Albums
Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.
Before the formation of Toto the group, members worked as sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group and the band held auditions for a new frontman. The band picked guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the album. The album was well-received by fans, and the band embarked upon the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
